About

Join your brothers for an evening honoring the founding of Sigma Chi at Miami University on June 28, 1855.

The XXXXXX Alumni Chapter invites all Sigma Chi brothers, families, and friends to our annual Founders Day Dinner on Saturday, April 18, 2026. This year's celebration will be held at the Historic Mission Inn in Riverside, California, beginning at 6:00 PM with a cocktail reception followed by dinner and our awards program at 7:00 PM.

For over a decade, our Founders Day gathering has served as the cornerstone event of the chapter's calendar — a time when brothers from across Southern California come together to celebrate the bonds forged during their undergraduate years and strengthened through a lifetime of shared purpose. Whether you crossed in the 1970s or the 2020s, this evening is yours.

This year carries special significance as we recognize the 25th anniversary of our chapter's rechartering. What began as a small group of brothers meeting at a local restaurant has grown into one of the most active alumni chapters in Province 14, with regular programming, mentorship initiatives, and a scholarship fund that has supported dozens of undergraduates pursuing academic excellence.

We are also proud to announce that proceeds from this year's event will directly benefit the Sigma Chi Foundation's leadership programming, ensuring that the next generation of Sigs has access to the same transformative experiences — Horizon, Krach, and Balfour — that shaped so many of us during our own chapter years.

Evening Highlights

We have an outstanding program planned this year that reflects the values of friendship, justice, and learning that define our fraternity. Our keynote speaker is Grand Consul Emeritus Brother James R. Walton, Eta Mu '82, who will share his reflections on the future of alumni engagement across the fraternity.

  • Cocktail Reception & Brotherhood Social — 6:00 PM
  • Dinner Service & Chapter Updates — 7:00 PM
  • Keynote Address by Bro. James R. Walton — 8:00 PM
  • Outstanding Alumni & Chapter Advisor Awards — 8:30 PM
  • Norman Shield Presentation & Closing Toast — 9:00 PM

A Message from Our Chapter President

Founders Day is more than a dinner — it's a reminder that our bonds don't end at graduation. Every year I'm moved by the brothers who travel hours to be in the room, some reuniting after decades. That spirit is what keeps our chapter strong.

Brother David Castillo, Delta Omega '04, Chapter President

Two generations ago, the men of Sigma Chi dedicated the current headquarters building here at 1714 Hinman Avenue in Evanston, Illinois. After four decades at the same location, it is hard to imagine a time when the headquarters led a somewhat nomadic existence as it roamed from place to place in search of a permanent home.
